Observer Group Egypt (OGE) is based in Ismailia and is comprised of four
Military Observers. Their primary function is to maintain a liaison office
with the Egyptian Government on behalf of Chief of Staff, UNTSO. OGE represents
and sustains a visible UNTSO presence in Egypt, with an emphasis on the Sinai,
through liaison and patrolling. It conducts long range patrols (Alpha) and
short range patrols (Echo) throughout the Sinai Peninsula.

Observer Group Golan – Tiberias (OGG-T) headquarters is based in
the city of Tiberias, Israel. Its main function is to assist in observing
the Agreement on Disengagement pending a final peace settlement. This is
accomplished by observing, patrolling and reporting presumed violations and
activities that could lead to a violation in the Area of Separation (AOS)
and in the A-side ( Israel) of the Area of Limitation (AOL). It has six Observation
Posts (OPs) with an overall strength of 37 Military Observers.


Observer Detachment Damascus (ODD) represents UNTSO in Damascus, Syria.
It consists of two Military Observers whose primary functions are to liaise,
co-operate and maintain good relations with Syrian officials and UN organisations
located in, or near Damascus. ODD is also prepared to chair the Israel Syria
Mixed Armistice Commission (ISMAC) if required.

United Nations Liaison Office in Beirut (UNLOB) represents the Chief of Staff,
UNTSO in Beirut, Lebanon. Two Military Observers are posted in UNLOB. Their
main functions are to liaise and maintain good relations with Lebanese officials
and other UN organizations in Beirut. They
monitor the media and review the local press on a daily basis for the UNTSO
HQ media summary. UNLOB is also prepared to chair the Israel Lebanon Mixed
Armistice Commission (ILMAC) if required.

Observer Group Lebanon (OGL) headquarters is based in Naqoura, Lebanon.
Its primary function is to monitor the withdrawal line between Israel and
Lebanon and report on any/all violations and activities that threaten the
cease-fire, peace and security. It has four Patrol Bases (PBs) with an overall
strength of 51 Military Observers.
